I had a similar issue with Media Player in Windows 10 - it would just rip i track then stop. I used Method 1 and it seems to be working fine.

A question - how do I know if I have the latest version of Windows Media Player?

Thanks,

Terry

I'm having the same problem after following the steps you suggested. Since purchasing this computer with Windows 8 last spring, and upgrading to Windows 10 when it became available, non one single thing has ever functioned at beginning attempt the way it should. I'm incredibly frustrated with having to spend hours researching and correcting bug that Microsoft should take corrected before releasing the product.

I have just downloaded windows 10 and again cannot rip music from CD. Although the ripping process completes unremarkably, with the music and cd art installed onto Media Player and Music File. H none of the tracks play. A red circle with cross within appears confronting each track. An error message 'Windows Media Actor cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not back up the codec that was used to shrink the file'. This includes after Method ane, in this thread. I'1000 pretty disappointed and frustrated as only wrestling with a complex system that someone has designed that causes problems for the cease user. Where practise I become from here - can anyone help please.

At outset I idea copyright simply seeing this thread it appears to exist more than that.

Anyway, I upgraded to windows 10 from seven and this is the first time I take tried to rip a cd so that I can transfer to my phone.

I also tried the above steps with no resolution.
